One of the most anticipated concerts of each concert series in recent years is the Masterworks Concert. We have been delighted to fill every inch of the chancel with many of the finest musicians in Southwest Florida and in so doing, we have filled the entire sanctuary with glorious music. This edition of the Masterworks concert features music for flute and orchestra. We welcome Venice’s own Karen Romig and a new young artist Luis Diaz as our starred flautists for the evening. This program features not only works for solo flute by John Rutter and Mozart, but also duets based on popular operas such as Verdi’s Rigoletto and Bizet’s Carmen. The concert will feature both chamber orchestra and a full 50-piece orchestra conducted by Jamal Sarikoki. Surely, this program of sophisticated and virtuosic music will not disappoint.
